Miami Beach Debate Team
2,600 students from 100’s of schools from around the country converged on South Florida for one of three national championship tournaments - The National Catholic Forensic League Tournament. Miami Beach Senior High qualified and entered 8 students.
- Of the 224 teams competing for the national title in Public Forum Debate, Charles Starr and Belen Mella finished 2nd to Stuyvesant High School.
- Sophomore Ben Burstein was selected for the final session in Congressional Debate placing 13th, and Alec Goldberg reached the quarter finals Original Oratory.
- Based on the combined success of its students the league awarded Miami Beach Senior High one of only five Excellences in Debate Awards. These achievements are a tribute to the hard work of our school’s students, faculty, and staff!
