• LESLEY GENT, Vocal Music and Keyboard Programs

Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Ms. Gent moved to

South Florida in 2007 in order to reunite with her two

sisters and check out the Florida Arts & Culture scene.

She accepted her first public teaching position here at

Beach High in September 2012, and is thrilled to be

sharing her passion, skills, and knowledge via the

    Vocal Music and Keyboard programs.

In addition to leading two large choral groups at Beach

High, Ms. Gent currently teaches four sections each of

and diverse experience across several industries, including

    classical/theatrical music performance and coaching,

instruction and advisement in higher education, and

    business management.

When she's not busy teaching, Ms. Gent

is a Singer/Songwriter and currently serves as the

lead vocalist for a local pop/punk/rock band. She has

performed leading roles in local and professional theater,

oratorio, and opera. She has won several awards,

including the YACTA Award for Best Actress In A Musical
