    English Through ESOL 2019-2020

The purpose of the English Through ESOL course is to enable students who are native speakers of languages other than English to develop proficient listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in English. Emphasis will be on the acquisition of integrated English communication skills in a wide range of content and activities using texts of high complexity to ensure college and career readiness. Students will read and analyze a variety of literature: speeches, legal documents, essays, short stories, novels, dramas, and poems. They will examine and write essays about the content and style of these literary works both in and out of class. In addition, the course will emphasize vocabulary enrichment and the development of research skills.

During Distance Teaching and Learning, all student lessons and assignments will be posted on the Microsoft Teams Platform. Lessons and assignments have been designed so students can work at their own pace and according to their preferred daily schedule. Please refer to the posted "Distance Learning and Communication" document for specific details as well as teacher office hours.

In addition to the utilization of the Microsoft Teams Platform, the Edmodo application will be kept in use for messaging only in order to allow students additional communication options with their teacher. Below you will find my class schedule as well as the corresponding Edmodo class code.
